I am so sorry for your loss and for the problems. If your Father had a Will and it was offered for probate then it would have been filed in the probate court in the county in which he resided at the time of his death. Once filed it is a public record. Now, if he did not have a Will and died intestate then the proceeding would still be filed in Probate Court and you can still take a look at the file. If your Father and stepmother held assets jointly then no probate is needed as the assets would have passed to her automatically at the time of his death.
