If my father-in-law told me before he died that he had gifted me some money, how do I find out about it?
He did not say how much more. My brother-in-law is executor of the estate but will not discuss the matter with me even though he knows about the gift. What is the best way to move forward?

I am so sorry for your loss. If the gift was listed in the Will then you are entitled to receive it. ANd you should have gotten a copy of the Will. If you did not then go and get a copy from the Probate Court. If it was a gift with out memorialization then that could be an issue after death. Good luck.
