If my ex-husband paysthe mortgage and taxes on property signed over to me but oth names are on the mortgage, what if I refuse to pay homeowner’s insurance?

he divorce decree says “in lieu of alimony” he pays mortgage and taxes; I cannot afford the homeowners. Will he have to pay it?

If you fail to pay the insurance on the property that your "ex" is paying the mortgage and property taxes on, the lender could deem you in default on the loan and pay the taxes itself and surcharge you for such. From what you have written about your dissolution decree, your "ex" does not have to pay the insurance on the property. I suggest that you carefully read the dissolution agreement in that its terms should answer your question in this matter.
