Can a mortgage company do a loan modification without my knowledge or consent?
My ex-husband did a loan modification on on a house that I am a co-borrower on. The house was foreclosed and sold at a sheriff sale.

Under the laws of all states in this country a loan modification mandates the signature on written documentation of all those who are subject to the loan modification with respect to the security for the loan. From what you have written about I suggest that you consult with a real estate attorney to discuss the matter of your question further and to review all documentation.
