What to do if my employer is threatening to terminate my employment due to a clash of opinions?

My employer is threatening to terminate my employment due to an email conversation in which I directly established how social media content is to be handled for the company professionally. Because they no longer feel they can have a working relationship with me, they are contemplating firing me because they believe I was disrespectful. If I am terminated, what actions can I take because of these grounds?

Arizona is an "at will" employment state.  That means anyone can be fired for any reason except an illegal one.  Illegal reasons would be those based on discrimination (racial, ethnic, religion, age...) or retaliation for whistleblowing with respect to violation of a state law.  The reasons that are illegal are very narrow and difficult to prove.  If you are terminated for being disrespectful in the eyes of your employer, you have no recourse.  You can collect unemployment.
