What to do if my employer is refusing to pay me?

I am an illegal alien and I am working on getting legal status. My employer knew this when he hired me. I have a paper that states I am waiting for my work visa and he said that was fine. Now he says he can’t pay me because I don’t have a SSN. This company hires a lot of illegals with “fraudulant” papers. I need my money.

I suggest that you consult with a labor law attorney about your matter. The problem that you have is that since you are illegally in this country you are not entitled to work for any compensation and as such, your employer is taking advantage of this fact.
