What to do if my employer is forcing me to use my accrued vacation time for medical related absences?

These medical absences are various surgeries and follow ups caused by a motor accident while commuting to work. This is not cosmetic or elective surgery.

Absent a written medical leave policy or a collective barganing agreement, you are faced with 2 options: 1) use vacation time for your mediccal visits, or, 2) go without pay for the time off.  Your state may have rules regarding such necessities.  Illinois does not.
