What to do if my daughter and her roommates recently moved out of a condo they occupied for a year and the landlord is now charging them to replace the carpet?
He stated that he could not get the livingroom carpet clean. He claims the carpet was only 8 months old when they moved in. Are they responsible for the entire amount or should it be prorated?

Ask for pictures as proof as well as the bill from the carpet cleaners. The law is that they are responsible for damage oer and above "normal wear and tear." The landlord has to prove that. You can always negotiate if you find that she and her freidns were indeed liable for the damages. Good luck.
