If I gave a 30-day notice, am I required by law to finish the 30 day notice or can I leave sooner?

If I gave a 30-day notice, am I required by law to finish the 30 day notice or can I leave sooner?

My contract with my employer expired over a month ago; she postponed renegotiation for multiple reasons. I gave her 30 day notice a few days ago as working conditions became less than ideal. New Link Destination
day I caught her going through my computer and opening documents on my email account. These are all password protected and I am unsure how she got through.

If your contract requires 30 days notice to terminate, then you are required to finish the 30 days or you will be in breach of contract.  The employer can recover against you for the breach, such as damages for having to pay someone else to do your job.  Since your employer is acting as if you are already gone, try talking to her to see if you can agree on an earlier departure.
