What to do if my company is withholding 1 weeks pay to “balance the payroll” so we will not get the pay until we leave the company?
We were told that we could request an advance on future pay if needed. This change did not come with any paperwork, but we were asked to sign a paper stating we would accept the cash advance. I did not sign.

Under the laws of states in this country you as an employe is entitled to get what you are owed from your employer immediately without having to sign any paper work concerning a pay advance. You worked the hours that you are owed and you should be paid for such.
