Is it egal id my company is asking me to sign a training repayment document after I have been to training with no prior mention of this agreement?

My company sent me to 2 days training at the beginning of the week, now they hand me a contract that states that I have to repay the training costs if I leave before 1 year. Is it legal for them to ask me to sign this document after training has taken place with no prior mention of such and agreement in the past, verbally or via paperwork?

Is it legal for them to ask you?  SUre they can ask you.  DO you have to legally sign it?  Probably not.  I would take the document to an attorney to review and discuss.  Could they state that is was part of the basis for your employment and you were so advised prior to taking the job?  It would be your word against theirs.  So you need to know how "local" case law will deal with it.  Good luck.
