If my boyfriend borrowed my car and was in an accident totaling it and causing property damage, will my insurer cover it and will I be responsible for any financial liability?

He was charged with DUI and driving while license suspended with knowledge.

Whether your insurer will cover the damages can be found in your policy. It will take some digging, but you should be able to find it. Another way to answer this question is to ask your agent.

As the driver of your vehicle, if your boyfriend was responsible for the collision, he will be responsible for any amount not covered by your insurance. You, as owner, should have no liability, unless, for example, you knew he was driving after drinking and allowed him to do so. Then, you may end up paying something out of your own pocket.
