What to do if my bankruptcy was discharged nearly a year ago but one of my ex-creditors is reporting a discharged debt as a bad debt every month?

I tried contacting the collection agency but they say they are within their legal rights. This doesn’t seem right to me.

If that ex-creditor's debt was indeed discharged by your bankruptcy, that ex-creditor needs to update its records with the credit reporting agencies to reflect this discharge. Click on the following link for further information on steps you can take with the bankruptcy court to get this ex-creditor to comply with the court's orders: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/debt/DischargedDebtsReturn.shtml
