What to do if my 18 year old son was arrested for possession of marijuana?

It was his girlfriend’s vehicle and her marijuana. He had not idea of it being in the car. She is willing to give a statement of it being hers. What steps do I need to take?

Quite honestly, her statement may or may not be enough to get the charges against your son dropped. It depends on whether or not the police believe her story. Just to play it safe, you ought to consult directly with a criminal law attorney as to all of this. They can best advise as to what you should do next once they have heard the entire story.
