When your nephew reaches 18 years of age, he is eligible to petition to have his juvenile record sealed. Once the record is sealed, no one can access it. The record will be completely destroyed five years from the date of sealing.

Your nephew must fill out and file a form (petition) with the juvenile court in the county in which he was convicted.

Your nephew can contact the appropriate juvenile court and request that they send him a copy of the form used in that county. He can also ask if there are additional filing requirements.
