At my job they told us we all needed to
have cdl licenses by a set date then
management told a couple employees
they no longer needed them mainly
because they’d been there awhile. Now
there docking our pay, meanwhile the
people they basically picked and chose
who have the same job title as I do
don’t lose any pay

No, this is not illegal discrimination: employers are not required to treat all employees the same, and may in particular treat older or more veteran employees (those who had been there awhile) differently or better than newer or younger employees. The law does not protect newer employees from long time employees being treated better.
