I recieved a ticket for speeding. I was doing 41 in a 25 mph speed zone according to the officer. The ticket itself was $127.

One way to try and not have the ticket that you received go on your record is to show up to traffic court and ask if you can simply pay the fine and be ordered to attend traffic school where if such is allowed and you complete the course you do not end up with a "traffic conviction" on your record.
Most courts have such a program for those who have not had a moving violation ticket for the prior five (5) years or so.
