Unfortunately, at this point, you probably have no recourse. An owner has an obligation to disclose known, but not-readily apparent or hidden ("latent") issues to prospective buyers, and a failure to do so can be fraud, providing a basis for a law suit and for seeking compensation. However, the statute of limitations, or time within which you must bring a lawsuit, for fraud in your state is only 2 years; if you bought the home 4 years ago, you would have exceed the statute of limitations and may no longer bring a lawsuit. Since you can't sue, you have no ability to recover compensation.
