Is there an investigation after filing for an annulment when one of the spouses is working on citizenship?
My friend married a foreigner in her country and brought her to the US. Not even 2 months have passed and the relationship has gone south (bad). He needs to have an annulment. Is immigration going to investigate them? He does not need that headache on top of everything else. I actually don’t care if she has to go back. I just care about my friend.

It really depends on whether he has filed for any immigration benefits on her behalf. If so, then of course the USCIS will want to look into it before they confer any immigration benefits. If he has not filed anything for her, then immigration is not going to become involved. How did she enter the US? Did she enter as a spouse of a US citizen on an immigrant visa? Did she enter as a fiancee of a US citizen?
