If you know in which court the divorce was filed or may have been filed, go to the court and look in the court's computer.  Look for your name under respondents or your wife's name under petitioners.  If the case was filed, it will be there.  If the case is there, note the case number.  Give the case number to the court clerk and ask the court clerk for the file. You can't remove the file from the court, but can ask the court clerk to photocopy the entire file or those sections of the file you want.  If the case is not in the court's computer, it has not been filed.
