Is reducing an employee’s hours and embarasing that employee in front of others considered to be discrimation?
My husband and I were having problems in our marriage. Then my employer reduced my hours and has started making embarassing comments in front of other employees. Is this a form of discrimation?

No, it is not discrimination under the law, unfortunately. Only actions directed against specifically protected categories are legally discrimination. However, neither federal nor kentucky law protects family or marital status. Therefore, your employer may legally reduce your hours or make embarassing comments about you based on maritalk problems. It is unprofessional and unfair, but not illegal.
