Is my company obligated to pay me for accrued vacation time when I leave on my own accord?

I had heard that PTO is considered deferred compensation and it is due to you upon your departure. My company is claiming some state law that they don’t.

My research suggests that while some states mandate the payout of unused vacation time when an employee leaves their job, in NV employers are not required to compensate employees for unused vacation days upon termination.
To be certain of your rights, especially since case law as labeled such time as defrerred compensation under certain circumstances, you can consult directly with an employmnt law attorney and/or contact your state's department of labor for further advice.
