Is it legal to keep files left on my laptop by my ex?
I owned the laptop before meeting the ex. The laptop solely belongs to me. The ex
used my windows account while using the laptop, choosing not to create their own.
Upon breaking up, the files Photos of us, our child, and my ex were left on my
computer. Is there any issues legally with keeping the files?

Unless your state law specifically prohibits that I would say that ou have every right to access these files. I would take precaution and back them up if they are photos of your child that you wish to preserve. Use of files created by him could be an issue under certain circumstances, say if they contain records of employment etc. If you are worried ask your lawyer. Good luck.
