Is it legal to be pulled over once your inside your house?

I was driving 2 blocks from a friends house to my own tonight and passed a cop, who didn’t turn on his lights and didn’t move. I wasn’t speeding. I turned the corner and pulled into my driveway, got out and walked inside my house. I was about to close my door when he finally pulled into my driveway, flipped on his lights and honked at me. He then made me come outside and sit in my car while he wrote me a ticket. Is this legal?

Under the laws of all states in this coutnry if law enforcement sees a person who is believed to have committed a crime, the police officer is allowed under the law to follow the person in pursuit wherever that person goes so long as the person is not deemed out of the police officer's presence.

In your situation what happened was legal and was part of the officer's pursuit of you for some alleged traffic violation even though you managed to reach the inside of your home before the officer managed to confront you face to face.
