Is it legal for my employer to use my name without my permission?

My employer would like to submit my designs that I’ve done for the company into local contests. I do not want them to be submitted but I understand that any work I’ve gotten paid for is his to do with whatever he pleases. Before I tell him he doesn’t have permission to use my name on these designs, I want to make sure that legally he can’t use my name without my permission.

While you are working there, the employer may use your name--the employer can make it a condition or requirement of employment. If or when you leave employment, the employer will no longer be able to use your name unless you had given them permission or consent (such as in something you had signed while employed).
