Is it legal for my boss to cut my hours after I have put in my2 weeks notice?

A month ago I informed my boss that I would be leaving at the end of this month for another job. I work with children teaching them social skills within the home. Many of my clients I have worked with for a year or more and so I am using my remaining time to get closure for me and my clients. My boss just informed me that some of my clients would be transitioned to others before the month was up. Can my boss take those hours from me? The only reason I am losing those clients is because I am leaving.

The fact is that your employer could have released you outright. While unfair, it's the law. The fact is that giving a 2-week notice is a courtesy on an employee's part; unfortunately an employer need not extend the courtesy the other way.  Absent something like a union agreement or employment contract that provides for different treatment or this is in violation of company policy, your employer's actions are legal.  However, if you feel that discrimination played some sort of role, you may have a claim.
