Is it legal for me to record a police officer after he pulled me over during a routine traffic stop?
I mean to record them with my cell phone.

There has been a push to make these types of recordings illegal---because of the number of bad behaviors which have been caught with footage as of late. However, it is still legal to record as long as you are a party to the conversation and you have consented to the recording. I would suggest that you simply turn the device on and record without notifying the officer. Officers seem to escalate their behavior (for some odd reason) when they know they are being recorded. Avoid the confrontation and stick to recording what did or did not happen.
