Arbitration can be either binding or non-binding.
If the parties have agreed to binding arbitration, the arbitrator's decision is final and that ends the matter.
If the parties have agreed to non-binding arbitration, the arbitrator's ruling in the case can be challenged and the case can be taken to trial.
