Injury at work

I’m a contractor for time Warner Cable
and was injured Saturday after a cable
line snapped that my ladder was hooked
on and I fell roughly 14 ft, I wasn’t
seriously injured but it has put me out
of work, my question is do I have a
case because the cable line is not
suppose to snap, it suppose to hold up
to 2000 lbs

A case against who? If the problem was the cable line snapped, your potential case would be against the cable manufacturer, not against your employer, since your employer did not cause the line to snap. (Basiclly, even if happened at work, what you describe is a product-liabilty claim: a claim against a defective product which caused your injury.) You'd also have to prove that you were *not* misusing the cable: that is, if the cable is not meant to support ladders and if you are not supposed to hook your ladder to such a cable, then you would be unlikely to recover compensation, since in this case, your own negligence or carelessness--that is, your misuse of the cable--would have caused or contributed to your injury.
