Can an MIP charge disqualify me from getting a license to carry a concealed habdgun?

I was not driving; this was my first and only offense of any kind (I was over the age of 18 at the time0. I will be turning 21 soon and have long planned to get my conceal and carry licence when I turn 21. If an MIP is a misdemeanor, this will set me back about 3 1/2 years. However, if I’m not mistaken, it may be a Class B violation which shouldn’t effect my eligibility. I need to know whether this is going to effect my eligibility because if it is I may half to get it expunged.

The conviction of the crime of a "minor in possession" of alcohol (MIP) is a misdemeanor under the laws of all states in this country. As a result, such a conviction would not in and of itself prevent the person convicted of such crime from getting a permit to carry a concealed hand gun.
