Is there a penalty for getting caught re-using a doctor’s excuse note repeatedly by changing the dates?

I had to re-use doctor’s excuse notices to get my child excused several times from school due to personal reasons. In Michigan, is there a penalty for getting caught re-using a doctor’s excuse note repeatedly by changing the dates?

Potentially criminal charges could result if you are using a doctor's excuse note repeatedly to get your child excused from school due to your personal reasons. Most likely charges will not be filed.

However, to keep using the doctor's excuse note for an improper purpose is a form of "fraud" that school officials could make a police report against you for. I suggest that you cease re-using the doctor's excuse note immediately.
