If you have a storage unit that gets auctioned off what can you do about it?

The place never called or sent a letter stating that it was up for auction. Shouldn’t they be able to tell me how much they sold it for? Can they sell it for less than what my belongings are worth?

Check the terms of the agreement under which you leased the unit, but it undoubtedly contained terms that if you failed to pay the rent, they could auction off the contents. If that is the case, and if you did fail to pay the rent, they had the right to do this. They are allowed to auction it off for *any* amount they can get, including less than what the belongings are worth. And they  have obligation to tell you what they sold it for.
