If my spouse asked me to move out am I still obligated to help pay the mortgage?

He wants me to split the closing costs but also to help pay the mortgage while he lives there and I’m paying rent somewhere else.

I am so sorry for your situation.  If the asset is in both of your names and you are also n the mortgage then you have the obligation to maintain your half of the debt.  Yes, I know that it seems harsh but the mortgage is a contract and you are obligated under its terms. Seek legal help fro a look at the whole picture here. Good luck.
