In your state, your employer only needs to give you paid 10-minute breaks--they don't have to give you paid 30-minute breaks. They must give you an unpaid 30-minute lunch break, however. If you work 8 hours, you would get two paid 10-minute breaks, or 20-minutes of paid break time. If you are being paid for a 30-minute break, you are actually coming out ahead on paid break time, even though your employer is not quite following the law.
