If I was injured while doing time in a prison, would the state be held accountable for my injuries?
I was struck in the head by another inmate with a water pitcher while attending last chow. I was taken off the unit to the local emergncy room, where I received 7 stitches to close the 2″ gash in my forehead.

Unless you can prove that the state was negligent somehow in allowing another inmate to injure you, you have no factual and legal basis for suing the state for the injuries you sustained. From what you have written, your claim would be against the person who struck you and not the state prison.
