If I quit my job, am I able to collect unemployment from a previous job?
I’ve been at my current job less than a month, but the position is not what was explained. My
previous job laid me off, so am I still able to collected unemployment from that job? Will I need to get fired from this current job in order to do so?

Once you take a new job, you can no longer collect unemployment for a prior position--only for the new one and, of course, only if laid off or terminated not for cause (i.e. not if you quit or resign, and not if fired "for cause," such as for absenteeism, insubordination, violating company policy, etc.) So yes, if you want unemployment, you need your current employer to terminate you so long as it is not for cause.
