If I just now found the father of my 21 year old son, can I get back child support?

I was 17 living with my aunt when I got pregnant. I was sent back out of state to live with my grandmother. I was no longer allowed to communicate with the father of my child. I have tried to contact him several times through his parents but was never successful. I have found his wife on facebook, so now I have his number. Can I still get back child support.

Please consult with an attorney in your area on the matter as soon as you can. There are certain time constraints here that are an issue. I am assuming that a child support order was never put in to place, correct?  Was paternity ever established by the time your child was 18? Enforcement of order has a 10 year statute of limitations in North Carolina which is the state listed here.  Get help.  Good luck.
