If I have a failure to appear on a possession charge, what penalty could I expect on the FTA?

Would it matter if I turned myself in? It will now be a misdemeanor due to Prop 47. All this is about 3 years old. I live in another county and the FTA was because I could not afford to take the train to my court appearance. I had been back and forth at that point about 6 times and just did not have the money for another train ticket.

WHat has probably happened is that a warrant has been issued against you and you should consult with an attorney as soon as you can about the matter.  Turning yourself in with some one to help you do that  - run interference if you will - is always a plus to being stopped and hauled in for a traffic infraction.  Good luck.
