if Iget accused of stealing andI don’t have proof or evidence that the items were given to me, what can i do? And I am getting prosecuted?

I need to know if a lawyer is needed, or if not?

I don't understand.  Did you shoplift? Is there video? Who is accusing you? Were you arrested? Were you fined? Both? Who gave them to you? Is there a way to show you were given the merchandise? If the items were stolen and they were given to you, then you may be in trouble for accepting stolen property.
