Your insurance card only provides information that you had purchased insurance coverage from a particular company, for a certain period of time (the policy period) and the policy number under which such insurance was obtained. The card is not a valid indication that you actually have insurance coverage since the coverages of insurance are always subject to the terms of the policy.
