You are responsible for supporting your child, regardless of the mother's finacial situation. That having been said, she too is equally responsible for your child's support. According, she may be reqired to seek employment by the court. Additionally, if she has a job, that will effect just what you will be ordered to pay in support. At this point, you should consult directly with  family law attorney in your area. They can best advise as to your specific situation.
