What to do if I worked for a company for 1 month and worked approximately 80 hours but was only compensated for 44 of those hours because supposedly there’s no record of those other hours?

You could either file a complaint with your state's department of labor and/or look to file a lawsuit, either pro se (on your own) or with an attorney's help. Legally, you must be paid for all hours worked; as a practical matter, to prevail, you will have to be able to prove, including by your own testimony, by a "preponderance of the evidence" (that it is more likely than not) that you worked the other 36 hours.
