I was under the impression you had to be given a break after 6 hours. We are expected to all be with students at all times.

Under MA General Law Chapter 149 Section 100, every employee must get a half-hour unpaid meal break (your employer can choose to pay you if it wishes) sometimes during a 6-hour shift. So if you are working 7 hours, you must recieve a half-hour break sometime during that 7 hours.
