What to do if I witnessed a car accident and now one of the peoples involved wants to talk to me about it?

I don’t know what I should do because I heard that one is suing the other.

If they just ask you informally to speak with them, you are not required to do so. However, if any  party to the accident issues you a subpoena, or a formal legal request, for your testimony, you will have to testify. If so, tell the truth, since if you lie and it comes out later than you lied, you could face repurcussions.
