First of all, this behavior is outragous. Unfortunately, it may or may not be actionable. In other words, you may or may not have a cause of action. The most obvious question is, were there any other witnesses to these remarks other than you and your partner? If not, you simply have a he said/she said situation. However, if there were witnesses, then you should most definitely consult with a personal injury attorney about this. There exisits the possiblilty for a suit for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress against both the individual in question as well as their employer.
