2 employees that reported to me made up a story that i was calling them derogatory names and I was fired with no warning or previous disciplinary action after 20 years with the company. I was a salary employee private company and I only found out why when I was applying for unemployment

Something doesn't sound right. How could you fired and not know why? In other words, you applied for unemployment, and didn't know you were fired and the reason? It makes no sense. If this is indeed the case, immediately call a labor lawyer at www.attorneypages.com and check his or her record at the Illinois State Bar.
