If I was stopped by police while walking home drunk from a party 4 weeks ago but was not given a citation, could I still receive something in the mail?

I was drunk, so I don’t remember very clearly. I sort of remember them asking where I had been drinking and where I was going. The police drove me home not to station. Could I still receive action in mail? If so, how long should I worry?

Legally you *could* receive a ticket or a summons: the law does not require immediate action by the authorities, and they have at least a year to act. As a practical matter, I have never heard of the police waiting this long before issuing a citation for public intoxication, so it is almost completely certain that you do not need to worry.
