No, a criminal conviction will not automatically come off of your criminal history record. To remove such a conviction you can see if you can "expunge" (i.e. clear ) your record. This will depend on the state that you are living in since the laws oncerning this vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Also, it will depend on the specific crime involved (i.e. just what offense the misdemeanor was for).

At this point, you can google your state law on this. If you are eligible for an expungement (or a sealing of your record), you can file for one yourself. However, doing so can be tedious and time-consuming, not to mention confusing. You may just want to consult with a local attorney for help.
