In any criminal proceeding that one is involved in, I always recommend that he or she retain a criminal defense attorney to represent him or her. The reason is that an experienced criminal defense attorney has the training, experience and knowledge to deal with the criminal matter much better than a non-attorney.

In your situation, since you have been charged with a criminal offense where potentially the outcome could be a fine, probation, or jail, I recommend that you consult with a criminal defense attorney sooner rather than later.
