Under the laws in most states in this country, once you receive the required notice of default sent certified mail return receipt requested, the earliest that the foreclosure sale can be set is 90 days after receipt of the notice of default. From a practical matter due to the number of defaults and foreclosures in this country, most foreclosure sales do not happen for at least 180 days after service of the notice of default on the homeowner by the lender.

I suggest that you call your lender and advise its representative of your situation and try and work some new payment arrangement to keep your home from being foreclosed upon.
